The County Materials Family of Companies has been a trusted name in the concrete manufacturing industry since 1946. Known for delivering reliable concrete construction products, the company plays a vital role in supporting the infrastructure needs of growing communities. Over the decades, County Materials has built a solid reputation by relying on a talented and dedicated team that consistently provides high-quality products combined with personalized service. They operate as a leading manufacturer and distributor of concrete products, with a strong presence in regions that demand durable, cost-effective, and innovative construction solutions. The company emphasizes core values such as integrity, customer focus, teamwork, and safety, which drive every aspect of their operations and corporate culture.

This opportunity is for a Quality Control Technician to join County Materials in Madison, Illinois. The role focuses on ensuring that all concrete construction products meet both company standards and regulatory requirements. As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, performing tests and measurements on production materials, and documenting key findings throughout various stages of the manufacturing process. A detail-oriented approach is essential as you identify any defects or deviations from product specifications, collaborating closely with production teams to resolve issues and maintain consistent quality.

The position offers a hands-on environment where the technician will regularly observe production activities such as setup, casting, stripping, and product storage. The role requires familiarity with the concrete industry's standard practices and procedures, an ability to interpret technical drawings and job specifications, and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes. You will act as a quality advocate within the plant, working with production teams to enhance concrete performance while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

County Materials fosters a culture aligned with their core competencies, emphasizing integrity, organizational awareness, customer-first focus, results-driven orientation, teamwork, safety, problem-solving, decision-making, creativity, and innovation. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in the construction or building materials industry is preferred but not mandatory. Experience in concrete plants or quality control is highly desirable. Candidates should exhibit strong mathematical aptitude, the ability to work independently, and possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. PCI Level I certification or a willingness to obtain necessary industry certifications is a plus. Additionally, the position requires a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Working in this role requires being comfortable in indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes exposed to varying weather conditions, noise, and the presence of moving machinery. The typical schedule involves Monday through Friday work hours, with occasional Saturdays based on workload and customer demands.

County Materials values inclusivity and encourages military service members and veterans to apply. The company also offers a comprehensive benefits package through its payroll and benefits service, Central Processing Corporation, which includes health and dental insurance, paid disability coverage, 401(k) match, paid holidays, paid time off, referral rewards, wellness programs, and more.
