The position available is focused on wet section process control and laboratory-based quality assurance activities. This role plays a critical part in supporting coating performance, ensuring compliance, and facilitating production troubleshooting. The person in this position is responsible for monitoring and testing various aspects of the coating process, including performing drawdowns, claim inspections, and chemical titrations. They will also ensure coating weights, oven cure conditions, and color standards meet strict quality requirements. Additionally, the role involves verification of incoming raw materials, supporting internal audits, responding to customer quality documentation requests, and assisting production teams with process and quality-related troubleshooting. Calibration of laboratory equipment and maintenance of chemical and testing supplies are essential functions to support uninterrupted laboratory operations.
This role requires a detail-oriented individual with the ability to maintain accuracy in product testing and documentation. Familiarity with basic math, measurement, and computer skills is needed to perform daily tasks effectively. The candidate should be capable of working up to 12-hour shifts and operating mobile equipment safely. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, occasional hazardous chemicals, temperature extremes, and moderate noise levels requiring hearing protection. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage is mandatory in specific manufacturing areas.

Job Qualifications

- metals coating roll forming or industrial manufacturing experience preferred
- knowledge of ASTM coating tests preferred
- experience with spectrophotometer equipment preferred
- ISO quality system experience preferred
Job Duties
- Provide wet section process control including execution of drawdowns and related coating tests
- conduct claim inspections and complete all required claim testing including panels and retained samples
- perform chemical titrations on pretreatment and wastewater systems in accordance with established procedures
- monitor and verify coating weights oven cure conditions and color standards to ensure product conformance
- verify incoming raw materials meet specification and compliance requirements
- support internal audits and respond to customer quality documentation requests
- assist production teams with troubleshooting coating process and quality-related issues
