Job Description

The company is currently seeking a Quality Control Technician to join their Clarksville, TN Quarry team. This full-time position plays a critical role in maintaining the quality standards of the company’s materials by conducting sampling and rigorous testing on aggregates. The Quality Control Technician will ensure that all products meet or exceed state, local, and customer specifications, adhering to strict standard test methods. This role requires attention to detail and a methodical approach to both data collection and analysis, as well as excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with plant personnel and report findings to supervisors.

In this role, you will actively promote safety within the work environment and routinely monitor stockpiles to detect any signs of segregation or contamination. You will be responsible for maintaining and managing a database of test results, ensuring accurate documentation and timely reporting. Regular inspections of the laboratory and equipment will also be necessary to uphold optimal working conditions and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. The position might occasionally require travel to other sites to perform similar functions, providing a dynamic and engaging work experience.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is punctual, reliable, and exhibits a positive attitude toward work. The ability to work independently while also participating cooperatively in a team setting is essential. Candidates should be well-organized and detail-oriented, proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software, with experience in aggregate testing and PennDOT certification preferred. Physical fitness is important as the job requires lifting materials up to 80 pounds and the ability to stand, stoop, bend, and walk for extended periods in various outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, dust, and dryness.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in aggregate testing
  • PennDOT certified
  • Valid driver license
  • Can lift up to 80 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk for an extended period
  • Ability to work in varied outdoor environments including cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy
  • Basic math skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and relevant software packages

Job Duties

  • This requires you promptly and accurately complete testing and report your findings to your supervisor

  • Perform daily inspections of the lab and equipment and maintenance as necessary
  • Maintain strong communications with other plant employees and operators
  • May be required to travel to other sites
