Job Description
Amrize is a prominent supplier of concrete mixes serving the commercial, industrial, and residential markets throughout the greater Bellingham area and Whatcom County. Known for its commitment to quality and customer service, Amrize operates two ready-mix facilities in this region, delivering a broad range of concrete products tailored to meet diverse project specifications and customer needs. The company emphasizes a lowest-cost producer environment while maintaining high standards in its production processes, ensuring consistency, durability, and value for its clients. Amrize has built a reputation for reliability and technical expertise within the construction materials industry, contributing significantly to the infrastructure and development projects across North America.
The role of Quality Control Supervisor at Amrize is a critical leadership position focused on maintaining and enhancing the quality of ready-mix concrete products. This position involves oversight of quality assurance testing for raw materials and ready-mix batches, careful preparation and management of mix designs, and the provision of technical support across the two ready-mix plants in Whatcom County. The Quality Control Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring that all products meet or exceed the stringent standards and specifications demanded by clients and industry regulations.
In this supervisory role, the successful candidate will work closely with a variety of stakeholders including plant operators, batchers, drivers, dispatchers, and external customers such as pump operators and concrete placers. This role not only demands a deep technical understanding of concrete materials, cement chemistry, and supplementary cementitious materials like fly ash and slag but also requires the ability to interpret and act on quality data to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
The supervisor will manage and develop mix designs aimed at optimizing cement usage and material efficiencies to reduce production costs while maintaining product integrity. This position also entails providing technical reports and presentations to customers, specifiers, and industry stakeholders, thereby serving as a key representative of Amrize's commitment to quality. Additionally, the Quality Control Supervisor will support the Ready-Mix Manager and operations teams with technical functions related to material cost reporting and work method development.
Moreover, the role includes training and coaching responsibilities, where the supervisor educates ready-mix truck drivers and plant personnel on quality standards and best practices that uphold Amrize's dedication to safety and excellence. Supervisory duties extend to overseeing one direct report, a QA Technician, ensuring they receive guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
Amrize places a strong emphasis on health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments, and the Quality Control Supervisor is expected to promote and embody a culture of safety. This includes adherence to protocols such as the proper use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, and compliance with fit testing standards.
This position offers an estimated annual wage range of $76,500 to $100,000 USD, supplemented by a bonus opportunity of up to 24% of the base salary. Additional benefits include comprehensive retirement savings options, medical and dental insurance, holistic health programs, paid time off, parental leave, educational assistance, and more. Joining Amrize means becoming part of a collaborative, inclusive work culture that supports career growth and values each employee's contributions in a dynamic operational environment. If you have the expertise and ambition to contribute to quality control excellence in ready-mix concrete, this role provides a rewarding opportunity to build a meaningful career within a company that is shaping the future of North American construction.
