The role of Quality Control Supervisor at City Line is critical in maintaining the company’s reputation for food safety and quality assurance. The Quality Control Supervisor will oversee all aspects of product quality within the warehouse, ensuring the safety and quality of all incoming products. This position involves developing and managing processes and procedures aimed at improving warehouse quality standards. The supervisor will lead a quality department, managing day-to-day activities and ensuring that quality control processes are consistently applied and effective. This includes the development of metrics to measure the effectiveness of storage, shipping, and receiving procedures related to product quality.

The supervisor will also be responsible for reviewing and summarizing quality data to identify trends and issues, making informed decisions related to food safety and quality. Accurate reporting of all relevant departmental data and activities falls under this role, helping to guide management decisions. The successful candidate will provide support and leadership in managing any issues related to quality or food safety, including leading FDA, BRC, and customer audits, as well as conducting internal audits of quality and food safety programs.

A key component of the role is training and ensuring that direct reports are fully equipped to perform their duties effectively. The supervisor must maintain a thorough knowledge of current regulations and appropriate product technology to ensure compliance. Reporting any food safety concerns promptly to management is crucial to maintain the safety standards City Line upholds.

This position offers a competitive salary of $70,000 annually, with a day shift schedule from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday with flexibility. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Food Science or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance within the food industry
  • At least 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Familiarity with FDA and USDA regulations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage a team and oversee quality control processes
  • Capacity to lead audits and training sessions
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and allergen management

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Food Science or related field
  • 5 years of food industry experience in QA
  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of food safety, food manufacturing processes, technologies or other relevant areas of responsibility
  • Knowledge of FDA and USDA specification regulations and documentation requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of thermal processes
  • Understanding of food safety and allergens

Job Duties

  • Develop and manage processes and procedures for warehouse quality improvements
  • Oversee day-to-day activities and manage quality department
  • Develop metrics to measure effectiveness and progress in storage, shipping and receiving quality procedures
  • Review and summarize data to understand trends and issues and to make decisions related to product safety and quality in areas of assigned responsibility
  • Assure the accurate reporting of all relevant department data and activities
  • Provide support and decision making in managing situations and issues related to quality and food safety as necessary
  • Assure that direct reports are adequately trained to conduct their jobs
  • Lead FDA, BRC and customer audits
  • Conduct internal audits of Quality and Food Safety programs
  • Maintain and communicate knowledge of current regulations on appropriate product technology
  • Responsible for reporting any food safety issues to management
  • Safely and accurately perform all duties as required for this position to ensure the safety and quality of our products
  • All other duties as assigned
