Job Duties

  • Follow established procedures and guidelines to check, test, and inspect raw materials, goods in process, and finished goods
  • compare physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment, and products to technical specifications to identify defects
  • conduct simple tests, record results and prepare simple technical reports
  • perform visual and measurement inspection tests including calculating distances, angles, radius tapers, thread and gear data using complex measuring equipment
  • utilize precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, master gauge blocks, indicators, surface gauges, surface plates, sine bars to accept or reject parts
  • approve finished products by confirming specifications and conducting visual and measurement tests
  • read and decipher complex technical drawings and incorporate tight tolerances into part inspection process
  • input and analyze statistical data utilizing SPC software
  • operate inspection equipment and troubleshoot quality issues
  • act as go-to person for quality control inspection procedures and train other employees
  • conduct training classes relating to inspection tools, processes, GD&T and technical drawings
  • perform analytical tests using instrumentation and perform measurement calculations
  • direct other department inspectors in absence of team lead or supervisor
  • perform internal audits according to company and customer quality standards
  • assist or perform in any and all areas as assigned
  • work any and all shifts as required
