Job Description
Circle U Foods, Inc. is a leading food manufacturing company committed to delivering high-quality products combined with outstanding service. The company’s mission revolves around exceeding customer expectations through innovation, operational efficiency, and an unwavering commitment to food safety. Circle U Foods fosters an inclusive culture that celebrates diversity and empowers its employees to thrive in a collaborative and accountable environment. Through dedicated efforts towards safety, transparency, and ethical business practices, the company strives to build lasting value for its customers and stakeholders, making it not just a business but a family dedicated to positively impacting the food industry and the community it serves.
The Quality Control (QC) Specialist role at Circle U Foods is a critical position focused on ensuring the integrity and quality of all products through comprehensive quality documentation review and verification processes. Reporting within a fast-paced food manufacturing setting, the QC Specialist is responsible for maintaining product release readiness by verifying Certificates of Analysis (COAs), production documentation, labels, product specifications, and other supporting quality records. This role ensures raw materials, packaging, and finished products comply with company standards, customer requirements, and SQF (Safe Quality Food) certification standards, which underline the company’s commitment to food safety and regulatory compliance.
The QC Specialist acts with strong independence, exercising sound judgment to assess documentation and resolve quality concerns. Key responsibilities include verifying vendor COAs in partnership with purchasing, controlling raw material and packaging verification, reviewing production documentation, and serving as aid in label verification processes. The position also plays a significant role in traceability and compliance by maintaining organized audit-ready records and participating in recall exercises. Crucially, this role contributes to nonconformance management by tracking quality deviations and supporting investigations and corrective actions.
This position demands organizational excellence, sharp analytical skills, and a deep understanding of quality control protocols. The QC Specialist must manage physical and digital documentation efficiently and communicate effectively across departments to promptly address discrepancies or quality issues. The ability to make independent quality decisions within established guidelines and confidently challenge products or documentation that fail to meet standards is vital.
The role requires a high school diploma or GED, though an associate degree in Food Science or Quality Assurance is preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of two years’ experience in food manufacturing quality assurance or control, preferably with familiarity in reviewing COAs, specifications, labels, production records, and traceability systems. Experience in regulated food manufacturing environments and knowledge of SQF standards, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), and food safety programs are critical to success in this role.
Working conditions involve primarily office-based work within an active manufacturing facility, demanding prolonged computer use, occasional lifting, and exposure to manufacturing environment elements like noise and varying temperatures. Circle U Foods values accountability and offers clear career pathways supported by a comprehensive benefits package.
This full-time, corporate office-based position offers a competitive pay rate of $25 per hour. Joining Circle U Foods means becoming part of a team that values quality, safety, and continuous improvement, where employees have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to product excellence and consumer safety while enjoying supportive workplace benefits and an inclusive corporate culture.
