The company is renowned for its extensive experience, robust equipment, and highly skilled deckplate supervision and mechanics. IMIA, LLC operates with rigorous corporate safety and quality assurance programs backed by strong financial stability, ensuring that all customer requirements are met with superior precision and reliability. The company’s commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction positions it as an industry leader in marine surface preparation and painting services.

IMIA, LLC offers a comprehensive benefit package to eligible employees including health, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability (LTD), accident, critical illness coverage, and 401(k) plans. Additionally, employees and their household members are eligible for the company’s Employee Assistance Program. For employees traveling out of town for work, IMIA provides either a per diem or dislocation allowance to help cover lodging, meals, and incidental expenses. The company follows an equal opportunity employment policy, encouraging diverse hiring with no discrimination based on any protected characteristics.

The Quality Control Inspector role at IMIA, LLC is a critical position responsible for monitoring and ensuring quality control and assurance standards onboard commercial and U.S. Navy vessels. This role requires adherence to established Navy regulations, industry standards, and contract-specific requirements detailed in the Scope of Work. The Quality Control Inspector collaborates frequently with customer QA personnel and the internal quality assurance manager to maintain superior preservation standards.

This role involves producing detailed electronic and handwritten quality assurance documentation that serves as objective quality evidence for work performed through all phases of the preservation process. The Quality Control Inspector develops and maintains Test and Inspection Plans (TIP) for assigned jobs and meticulously monitors various critical parameters, including metal anchor tooth profiles, paint wet and dry film thickness, steel temperatures, and environmental conditions using specialized equipment such as micrometers, dry film thickness gauges, infrared thermometers, and psychrometers. Maintaining calibration certification and proper working order of this equipment is essential.

Candidates must possess a High School diploma or equivalent, along with NACE Inspector and/or SSPC NBPI certification. Experience, whether formal or informal, in the marine industry with a familiarity of Navy and Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) standards is required. Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and databases is necessary to manage documentation and communication effectively. Mathematical skills sufficient to calculate preservation readings, and the ability to interpret complex instructions accurately are also essential.

Physically, the role demands working an 8 to 10-hour day involving computer use, physical agility within confined and restricted spaces such as tanks, scaffolds, and ladders. The environment often includes exposure to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic chemicals, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. Safety protocol adherence is mandatory given the hazardous nature of the work. Frequent travel is also expected.

IMIA, LLC offers a non-exempt employment status for this position based in Florida, allowing participation in overtime where applicable. The company emphasizes a safe and supportive work environment while expecting professional, knowledgeable, and cooperative interactions with supervisors, coworkers, and customer representatives.

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities but plays a vital role in maintaining the company's reputation for unmatched quality in marine preservation and painting. The Quality Control Inspector will be an integral part of IMIA’s team, helping uphold the company’s commitment to top-tier service and compliance within the maritime industry. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply promptly to join this dynamic and respected team.
