The current opening is for a Quality Control Inspector, reporting directly to the Supervisor of Production - Quality Assurance. This critical role involves inspection responsibilities vital for the accurate and efficient flow of materials and documentation through the Quality Control Department across all manufacturing areas. The inspector will be tasked with verifying the quality of machined, fabricated, sub-assembled, and assembled parts, encompassing purchased materials, receiving raw materials and components, managing subcontracted services including machining, heat-treating, plating, and non-destructive testing like Magna-flux particle testing.

In this role, the Quality Control Inspector will perform first article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards. The position requires the calibration, control, and recording of inspection tools and instruments in accordance with quality procedures and ISO standards. The inspector will review and interpret engineering drawings and diagrams, suggest improvements for production and quality standards, and analyze job tasks and inspection tools to enhance quality assurance efficiency, reliability, and performance.

The role also demands the physical handling of parts using hand trucks, forklifts, overhead hoists, and other lifting mechanisms to move heavy loads up to 6,000 pounds safely within the inspection areas. Additional responsibilities include conducting dimensional inspections, coordinating paint quality tests, collaborating with the Engineering department to resolve any deficiencies, utilizing advanced inspection equipment such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Gear Measuring Machines (GMM), Portable CMMs, and hardness testing devices.

The Quality Control Inspector will also verify Certificates of Conformance and material certificates, manage documentation and records related to inspections, support electronic inspection queues and discrepant material reports (DMRs), execute part dispositions in line with Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and ensure thorough familiarity with the company’s Quality Management System procedures. The position operates onsite and requires candidates to be adaptable to travel demands as necessary.
