Job Description

The opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing company located in Torrance, CA, is now available for a Quality Control Inspector. This company is committed to maintaining high standards of quality across the entire product lifecycle, from raw materials to finished goods that reach the customer. As a quality-focused manufacturing business, they emphasize precision, accuracy, and adherence to both industry regulations and customer-specific requirements. They foster a team-oriented environment where collaboration and continuous improvement are key drivers of success. The company offers a standard Monday through Friday schedule, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, creating a consistent work week for employees. The pay rate for this role is $22 per hour, reflecting a competitive wage for skilled quality control professionals in the region.

The role of Quality Control Inspector is crucial to the company’s mission to deliver only the highest quality products to their customers. The inspector’s primary responsibilities revolve around conducting detailed inspections and tests during all stages of production to ensure that the products meet or exceed set quality standards. The position requires working closely with the Material Control Coordinator to inspect incoming materials for conformity, managing documentation and communication with suppliers regarding quality and certification issues, and tagging any suspect materials for proper disposition. In-process product checks are performed regularly to maintain ongoing product quality, and the inspector is responsible for conducting First Article Inspections (FAI) to confirm that initial production batches meet customer expectations. The role continues into shipping, where the inspector verifies that all documentation, such as sales orders, inspection reports, and customer packets, are complete and accurate before goods are dispatched. They ensure that product numbers, certificates, labels, packing slips, and stamps align correctly with orders.

Beyond inspection and verification duties, the Quality Control Inspector investigates customer complaints related to product nonconformities or documentation discrepancies. This investigation involves root cause analysis, collaborating with cross-functional teams to recommend and implement corrective actions, and verifying the effectiveness of those actions to prevent defects from reaching customers. The position entails collecting and analyzing quality data, tracking quality progression, and continuously seeking ways to improve quality systems and processes. Inspectors also facilitate communication between receiving, production, shipping, and office personnel to ensure the smooth resolution of quality issues. A key part of the role includes adhering strictly to quality plans and inspection procedures such as the QCP-1010 document standards, and preparing detailed corrective action reports to document quality deviations and resolutions.

This position demands high attention to detail, organizational skills, and a solid grasp of precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers. The inspector must be able to interpret part drawings and blueprints correctly to carry out proper inspections. The job requires prior hands-on experience in a manufacturing quality control position and the ability to communicate fluently in English, with Spanish bilingual skills considered a plus. With a structured schedule, a competitive hourly wage, and a supportive environment focused on quality excellence, this role is ideal for a professional looking to leverage their inspection skills in a stable manufacturing setting.
