Specializing in marine vessel preservation, IMIA, LLC combines industry expertise with a commitment to delivering top-quality results on time, every time. The company's broad capabilities include seasoned deckplate supervision and mechanics, state-of-the-art equipment, as well as stringent corporate safety and quality programs designed to meet and exceed customer expectations. Financially robust, IMIA supports its clients' vessel preservation needs with a comprehensive and superior approach that integrates best industry practices and cutting-edge solutions.
The role of Quality Control Inspector at IMIA, LLC is a pivotal position ensuring that all marine preservation activities comply with the highest standards, particularly those established by the U.S. Navy and Society for Protective Coatings. This position is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are passionate about quality assurance and have a keen eye for detail in marine industrial environments. The Quality Control Inspector will report directly to the Quality Control Manager and will maintain continuous communication with project managers and supervisors to ensure seamless project execution.
In this role, the inspector is responsible for monitoring all quality control and assurance requirements aboard commercial and U.S. Navy vessels, ensuring that work complies with established Navy regulations and specific contract details outlined in the scope of work. The inspector collaborates closely with customer quality assurance personnel to address critical job aspects. Essential responsibilities include producing detailed electronic and handwritten quality assurance documentation that acts as objective evidence for all preservation work performed. Additionally, this role involves developing and maintaining Test and Inspection Plans (TIP) for assigned projects and meticulously recording environmental measurements such as metal anchor tooth profiles, paint dry and wet film thickness, steel temperatures, and other critical data using specialized measurement tools.
IMIA, LLC values safety and operational efficiency, mandating that all inspections and documentation processes be conducted with utmost diligence to prevent injuries and maintain a secure work environment. Candidates must be physically capable of working 8 to 10-hour days in challenging environments that may include confined spaces, exposure to extreme weather, hazardous chemicals, and elevated noise levels. This job requires resilience, precise data handling, and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team and engage professionally with client representatives.
IMIA, LLC offers a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability (LTD), accident coverage, critical illness protection, and a 401(k) plan. The company promotes an equitable and inclusive work environment, embracing all employees regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, or any other protected characteristics. Additionally, per diem or dislocation allowances may be provided to help cover travel-related expenses for employees working away from home. This position offers a competitive pay range of $30.00 to $38.00 per hour, dependent on experience, and signifies IMIA's commitment to attracting and retaining skilled professionals dedicated to superior marine vessel preservation.
