The Quality Assurance Technician role at Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA is an integral position reporting directly to the Quality Supervisor. This role is primarily responsible for conducting analytical testing and verifying routine production processes to ensure product quality meets or exceeds standards. As a Quality Assurance Technician, the individual will engage in various audits and tests starting from the raw material stage through to finished goods. This includes performing technical evaluations to support continuous quality assurance and productivity improvement efforts, monitoring product consistency and packaging integrity, and ensuring compliance with all relevant operational guidelines.

This position offers a pay range between $21.00 and $31.00 per hour, reflecting the importance and technical nature of the role. The technician will collaborate cross-functionally with other departments, identifying potential areas for process enhancement to drive operational efficiency and product excellence. The Quality Assurance Technician’s duties encompass maintaining the QA Hold system, conducting root cause analysis for quality issues, managing laboratory inventories, and supporting compliance with GMP and food safety policies. Moreover, the role demands active participation in routine GMP and food safety inspections and investigations.

Candidates for this role are expected to hold at least a high school diploma or GED, with preferred qualifications including technical training or certifications in food safety such as HACCP and SQF. Strong observational skills, effective communication, and the capability to investigate and implement corrective measures are essential for success. Physically, candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work in non-climate-controlled environments, and sustain long periods of physical activity involving lifting, bending, walking, and standing.

Job Requirements

  • Must comply with all federal, state, corporate, warehouse and food safety standards, policies, and guidelines (i.e., HACCP, GMP, SQF, FDA, etc.)
  • High school diploma or GED or Technical Trade School Certificate
  • Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Certified HACCP and SQF training and experience highly preferred
  • Strong observation to details with ability to effectively investigate and devise corrective actions
  • Strong written, oral, communications and facilitation skills
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be willing and able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
  • Must be able to meet physical, environmental, and mental requirements outlined either with or without accommodation
  • Frequent lifting, bending, walking and standing for long periods of time

Job Duties

  • Performs various audits and tests from the raw material stage through the finish product to ensure quality
  • Provides technical support with an emphasis on consumer requirements, continuous product quality and productivity requirements and verification for quality assurance and measurement analysis
  • Monitors product processing, consistency, and packaging integrity by conducting analytical testing, sensory, product/ingredient sampling, as well as documentation
  • Acts on any quality noncompliance and record all results of investigations, findings, root cause analysis, and situations that occur within the shift
  • Place holds on product not within specification by generating hold documents and distributing to the proper personnel
  • Assists in the disposition of hold product when needed
  • Maintains the QA Hold system daily
  • Maintains daily retention sample procedure for finished goods items
  • Maintains laboratory inventory of tools, supplies, chemicals, and assure all measurement analysis equipment is functional as well as calibrated on a routine basis
  • Appropriately monitors and responds to all process operating guidelines and comply with GMP & safety policies
  • Assists with routine and situational GMP/Food safety inspections, exercises, systems, and/or investigations for any quality, food safety & security concerns
  • Performs testing of raw material sampling to finish product and sensory evaluation (cupping)
