Job Description

Urban Remedy is a pioneering plant-based organic food company committed to the philosophy that Food is Healing. Founded by Neka Pasquale, a licensed Acupuncturist, the company integrates ancient Chinese and Ayurvedic medicinal principles with modern functional medicine to develop nutritious, healing food products. Urban Remedy’s dedication to quality and wellness is evident in their certified organic and non-GMO standards, focusing on natural, anti-inflammatory, and low glycemic ingredients without preservatives, fillers, refined flours, sugars, oils, gluten, or dairy. This commitment ensures the delivery of transparent, authentic, and health-promoting food options designed to empower individuals to achieve their best health and well-being. The company culture revolves around core values: Our Foundation, Accountability, Creativity, Change, Integrity, and Empowerment. These values guide every team member in fostering a supportive, innovative environment dedicated to excellence and community service.

The role of Quality Assurance Supervisor at Urban Remedy is an essential leadership position within the Food Safety and Quality Assurance department. Reporting directly to the Manager of Food Safety and Quality Assurance, this position oversees critical quality control activities, ensuring all products meet rigorous safety and quality standards. This non-exempt, full-time role operates within a Sunday to Thursday work schedule and is effective from April 2026. The supervisor directly manages the Quality Assurance Team Lead and Quality Assurance Specialist, focusing on maintaining compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and food safety protocols throughout the complete production cycle—from raw materials to finished product release.

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is tasked with independently coordinating and conducting quality assurance/control functions, including routine monitoring and auditing of manufacturing processes, review and release of daily production batch records, and managing document control systems. This role requires hands-on involvement in performing analytical and sensory tests to resolve customer complaints and ensure product consistency. Moreover, the supervisor is responsible for scheduling calibration testing, validation procedures, and facilitating food safety training for production and warehouse teams. Handling deviations and non-conformances, the supervisor conducts root cause analysis (RCA) and implements corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), working closely with the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager.

This position demands a comprehensive understanding of food safety regulations, cGMP standards, HACCP/HARPC guidelines, and familiarity with certifications such as GFSI/SQF, National Organic Program, and Kosher standards. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in 21 CFR regulated industries such as food, dietary supplements, or medical devices, coupled with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. The role involves some physical activity within a plant and warehouse environment, requiring mobility, stamina for standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Urban Remedy encourages employees to embody accountability and innovation, fostering continuous improvement and professional growth while supporting the company's commitment to sustainability by conserving resources. This impactful role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the quality and safety of transformative food products that promote holistic health and community well-being.
