The Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) role at TRUMPF plays a critical function in verifying the quality of machines and supplier deliveries to ensure they meet TRUMPF's Total Quality System (TQS). This position is responsible for investigating quality issues, determining root causes, and implementing corrective and preventive actions. The QAR also coordinates material dispositions for non-conforming products, conducts inspections according to drawings and standards, and performs final inspections on finished machines. Acting as a key liaison among internal departments and suppliers, the QAR drives continuous improvement measures to enhance quality assurance processes. Additionally, the QAR holds the authority to approve product deliveries from production to either the process stage or the end customer, ensuring that only products meeting stringent quality criteria proceed. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who can escalate unresolved quality issues and collaborate effectively across diverse teams to uphold TRUMPF's commitment to quality and innovation.

Job Requirements

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
at least two years of quality control experience in parts/components manufacturing
proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
thorough knowledge of GD&T principles
experience using measuring equipment and inspection techniques
strong attention to detail and organizational skills
good interpersonal and communication skills
ability to use computers and MS Office applications
capacity to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision

Job Qualifications

Minimum two years experience in quality control in parts/components manufacturing
ability to read and interpret technical drawings
detailed knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
experience with measuring equipment and inspection techniques
strong interpersonal skills
attention to detail
organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
proficiency in computer and standard software packages including MS Office
ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision

Job Duties

Investigate and address quality issues including root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions
coordinate material disposition of non-conforming products such as rework, replacement, and acceptance under deviations
perform inspections of materials in accordance with drawings and standards
interface daily with internal departments and suppliers to ensure quality compliance
perform final inspections of finished machines to authorize product delivery
implement and continuously improve quality assurance measures
systematically follow up on quality problems to verify effectiveness internally and with suppliers
escalate issues when no adequate or effective measures are initiated
