The role of Quality Assurance Manager, Food Safety (Poultry), offers a unique chance to lead food safety and quality programs specifically within the poultry category. This position is integral to ensuring supplier compliance, regulatory adherence, and product excellence. The manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Product Development, Category Management, and Risk to drive strategic initiatives that influence supplier performance and foster continuous improvement in food safety and quality systems. With a salary up to $118,000 plus bonus potential, this role comes with significant responsibility and impact.

Key responsibilities include leading FSQA programs and supplier compliance initiatives, reviewing audits and inspection results, conducting evaluations and sampling, and maintaining detailed product specifications and safety documentation. This role also entails supporting the commercialization of new poultry products and menu innovations, investigating food safety incidents, and serving as the primary liaison among internal and external stakeholders. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of food safety and quality assurance experience in poultry or related industries
  • Proficient knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FDA Food Code, and food safety regulations
  • Experience in managing supplier food safety audits and corrective action plans
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to conduct detailed product evaluations and sampling
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and incident investigation procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of food safety and quality assurance experience within poultry, food manufacturing, or restaurant systems
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FDA Food Code, and food safety regulatory requirements
  • Experience managing supplier food safety programs, audits, and corrective action processes

Job Duties

  • Lead FSQA programs and supplier food safety compliance initiatives within the poultry category
  • Review supplier audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective action plans to assess and mitigate risk
  • Conduct supplier audits, product evaluations, and sampling activities to verify compliance and quality standards
  • Develop and maintain product specifications, quality requirements, and food safety documentation
  • Support commercialization efforts for new and existing poultry products
  • Investigate food safety incidents and serve as the primary FSQA liaison across internal and external stakeholders
