Job Requirements

  • reliable attendance and willingness to learn
  • ability to maintain safe practices and comply with PPE requirements
  • ability to work in temperatures between 40°F and 80°F for extended hours
  • capability to perform physically intense tasks including lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying objects
  • ability to stand and perform repetitive tasks for long periods
  • flexibility to work overtime including weekends
  • strong communication skills
  • basic understanding of GMP, HACCP, and SSOP
  • knowledge of root cause analysis
  • commitment to workplace safety

Job Qualifications

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • general understanding of good manufacturing practices (GMP), HACCP, and SSOP
  • knowledge of root cause analysis (5-whys) and understanding of deviation management
  • critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • reliability and dependability
  • preferred high school diploma
  • computer knowledge
  • prior experience with HACCP, SSOP, and GMP
  • past work in meat or food processing environment
  • ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting
  • ability to identify food safety violations or product quality issues

Job Duties

  • perform monitoring and verification activities of food safety and quality assurance systems
  • troubleshoot issues related to HACCP, SOPs, and SSOPs
  • enforce good manufacturing practices (GMP)
  • conduct food safety and quality assurance audits
  • ensure employee safety procedures are followed
  • collect and analyze data related to food safety
  • perform all other duties assigned by supervisor, manager, or director
