Our client is a reputable and specialized API Licensed pipe manufacturing and threading company located in Houston, Texas. They serve the oil and gas industry by delivering high-quality tubular products and services. The Quality Assurance Coordinator position is a temporary role based in Houston, TX with a competitive pay range of $20 to $25 per hour, depending on experience. This is a full-time day shift opportunity, running from 8 AM to 5 PM, and is scheduled for an immediate start with a 3-month duration. The primary focus of this position is to support the quality assurance processes by ensuring that all product documentation meets API and customer specifications. The coordinator will play a pivotal role in reviewing, compiling, and maintaining critical quality documentation, including material test reports (MTRs), inspection records, and final acceptance reports. This position involves a significant amount of coordination and communication with both the inspection team and production personnel to facilitate product shipment approvals.
Key responsibilities include managing documentation reviews for product releases, building and maintaining the quality files (both physical and electronic), entering mechanical testing data, and ensuring compliance with API’s 10-year documentation retention requirements. The role also entails using specialized software such as EFD and PIPE to manage quality data and ensure seamless collaboration across departments using tools such as SharePoint. Candidates with experience in coupling, threading, and the use of measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges will find their expertise well utilized in this function.

Job Requirements
- Prefer 3 years' experience in a quality assurance function in an API Licensed pipe manufacturer and/or threader
- proficient in spreadsheet tools (Excel, Smartsheet), manufacturing execution systems, data entry/retrieval, network file sharing, and online collaboration tools like SharePoint
- good understanding of mechanical testing requirements for API 5CT and 5L products
- must pass background and drug screen
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Spanish fluency
- computer literate
- good communication skills
- proficient with EFD and PIPE software
- knowledge of API, ISO, and ASTM specification requirements
- experience with coupling and threading
- experience with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring devices
- visually inspecting threaded connections for defects such as cracks, burrs, or missing threads
- preparing reports to document findings
- understands all QA SOP's requirements and procedures
Job Duties
- Document review and release all SLN's (product) that meet all technical, testing, and inspection requirements
- build quality documentation file (physical and/or electronic) as processing activity reports are received
- generate material test reports (MTRs)
- enter mechanical testing data from the lab to generate required test reports for each lot
- maintain records (required quality documents) during API-required 10-year retention period
- coordinate final visual acceptance of orders
- miscellaneous office duties
