With a network of travel centers strategically located across the country, TA provides a comprehensive range of services including fuel, food, truck maintenance, and other essential traveler services. The company’s headquarters in Westlake, Ohio, supports this vast operation with a committed team focused on innovation, growth, and sustainability. TA is actively expanding its network, adopting cutting-edge technology, and investing in alternative energy solutions, showcasing its commitment to a sustainable future and the evolving needs of its diverse customer base.

Working with TravelCenters of America means joining a dynamic team where every employee is valued as a stakeholder in the company’s success. TA fosters an inclusive culture that encourages the sharing of ideas and growth opportunities, offering employees a chance to build a rewarding career in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Cook position at TravelCenters of America is pivotal to maintaining the quality and service standards that guests expect at any TA travel center. This role is well-suited for individuals passionate about food service and committed to delivering excellent customer experiences. Cooks at TA prepare and present a variety of food offerings from a range of dining options available at the travel centers. The position demands adherence to food safety protocols, meticulous preparation of ingredients, and careful plating to meet presentation standards.

This role offers a fun and trusting work environment centered on customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include prep cook tasks such as washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients, as well as grill cook duties like managing broiler, fryer, and grill stations in accordance with line check sheets. The Cook ensures all food products are prepared as per guest specifications and follows strict plate presentation guidelines. Additionally, the role requires completing preparation, freezer pull, and temperature checks, practicing safe food handling, managing waste control, maintaining equipment, and prioritizing tasks to meet both restaurant and guest needs.

Teamwork and communication are key; Cooks interact closely with leaders and co-workers to create a seamless dining experience. The position may involve flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support the operational needs of the travel centers.

TA offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401(k) plans with company match, paid vacation and holidays, tuition reimbursement, and on-site meal discounts. Employees also enjoy a variety of discounts on technology, travel, food, and fuel, making it a rewarding place to work with ample opportunities for career growth and advancement.

TravelCenters of America is an equal opportunity employer, committed to fostering a diverse workforce that reflects the broad range of travelers it serves. The company ensures reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment process.
