Job Description

Arc of Acadiana is a respected non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Acadiana region. They provide residential, vocational, and day program services, focusing on person-centered care and community inclusion. With a mission to empower individuals through comprehensive support, Arc of Acadiana has developed a strong reputation for quality service delivery and advocacy in the disability services sector.

The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) plays a critical role within Arc of Acadiana's Residential Community Group Homes, located in Bossier City, LA. This full-time position, working Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, centers on coordinating, developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized program plans (IPPs) tailored to the unique strengths, needs, and goals of individuals receiving services. The QIDP ensures that all services are person-centered, compliant with state and federal regulations, and that they support meaningful outcomes for residents.

In this role, the QIDP is extensively involved in program planning and compliance activities, including completing detailed assessments and summaries, monitoring progress, and making necessary adjustments to program plans. They maintain rigorous compliance with licensing standards and participate in audits and corrective action processes when required. Beyond planning, the QIDP is tasked with direct observation within residential settings to verify that approved services are delivered effectively and participate in resident screenings and admissions.

Supporting staff, particularly Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), is a key responsibility of the QIDP. This involves providing coaching, training, and guidance to staff members on implementing individualized objectives and proper documentation practices, ensuring adherence to schedules and data collection procedures, and assisting DSPs with daily support needs. Collaboration is emphasized through regular communication with program managers, directors, families, legal guardians, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members to monitor individual progress and address concerns.

The position requires vigilance in incident management and safety, reviewing incident reports, ensuring timely follow-ups, promoting health and welfare, and assisting with emergency preparedness and continuity of care during emergencies. The QIDP also handles professional responsibilities like maintaining confidentiality, demonstrating ethical decision-making, and traveling between residential sites as needed.

Arc of Acadiana offers a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees, including paid time off, paid holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, disability insurance, bonuses, rewards programs, and tuition reimbursement. This employment opportunity is ideal for professionals seeking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities while working in a supportive, collaborative environment.
