The Quality Control Inspector role at CHAUVET is a crucial position responsible for ensuring that all products meet stringent quality standards before reaching customers. This full-time position focuses on rigorous inspection and testing processes to confirm that products are defect-free and adhere to specified performance criteria. The inspector will gain in-depth knowledge of the extensive product lines, including their operations and multiple-unit connectivity capabilities. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to use various hand tools and testing equipment safely. Furthermore, the Quality Control Inspector collaborates closely with several departments such as Customer Service, Repair Technicians, Sales, and Shipping to enhance overall customer satisfaction. Employees in this role will participate in ongoing training programs to continuously expand their understanding of CHAUVET’s technologies and improve diagnostic abilities. The position requires excellent communication and time-management skills to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Physical demands of the job include lifting varying weights and utilizing a wide range of physical movements. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Six months or more experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in repair or service of lighting, small electronics, or technical products
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions, follow established procedures, and keep accurate records
  • Good observation and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to talk or hear
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Job Duties

  • Develop a thorough knowledge of CHAUVET product ranges including both operation and multiple-unit connectivity
  • Visually and physically inspect all products to determine they meet specifications regarding packaging, presentation, physical appearance, performance, and functionality, using a range of necessary tools for testing
  • Safely and responsibly handle and operate hand tools such as calipers, power drills, screwdrivers, laser testers, light meters, heat guns, box cutters, and others as may be required while wearing proper safety equipment
  • Document and report all issues to the QC Manager that could lead to customer dissatisfaction that could contribute to recurring defects and potential loss of sales
  • Provide timely feedback to the company regarding product failures or performance concerns
  • Ensure labeling, barcoding, and silk screening are accurate and correctly placed
  • Participate in department-wide training, cross-training, and mentoring programs for new and existing team members to increase personal knowledge of the CHAUVET brands of products
  • Develop skills that aid in the successful diagnosis of errors related to product operation or functions
  • Develop skills toward becoming an expert in the operation of all CHAUVET products, controlling via DMX/Art-Net and various other control protocols
  • Partner with Customer Service, Repair Technicians, Sales, and Shipping personnel to meet and exceed CHAUVET customer experience
