Located in Tampa, Florida, this opportunity is for a QC Microbiologist I, a role integral to ensuring the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance of pharmaceutical products manufactured and distributed globally. The position involves performing essential microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, and quality control activities that maintain the high standards expected of Lonza’s products. The QC Microbiologist I will collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, and external laboratories to facilitate timely product release and ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer specifications. Responsibilities include conducting routine and specialized microbiological assays such as raw material and finished product testing, water sampling, microorganism identification, and media sterility checks. The role also supports laboratory quality through the investigation of deviations, corrective action implementation, method validation, and preparation of audit documentation. Given the nature of the work environment, the role may require travel between multiple sites within Tampa and flexible working hours including weekends, holidays, or 12-hour shifts.
