The QC Microbiology Technician role at PCI is pivotal in maintaining the quality and safety of pharmaceutical products. This mid-level position involves conducting environmental monitoring and sampling of product environments and clean utilities according to approved procedures. The technician will perform critical laboratory testing for total organic carbon (TOC), conductivity, bioburden, endotoxin, and other quality control tests on in-process pharmaceutical products. The role requires meticulous adherence to safety protocols, aseptic gowning procedures, and meticulous data recording to maintain compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP). The technician will work in various clean room settings, performing sampling of viable and non-viable particulates, utility sampling, and testing purified water systems and compressed air among others. Responsibilities also include lab maintenance, biological indicator testing, media growth promotion, and event reporting within the quality tracking system. This position demands the ability to work across multiple sites, manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, and occasionally train less experienced team members. The physical demands require the ability to stand for extended periods, wear personal protective equipment, and lift moderate weights.
