The QC Inspector role at Ichor Systems is an essential position located in Austin, Texas, specifically for the 3rd shift covering weekends. This role focuses on maintaining product and process quality through meticulous inspection, testing, and monitoring of manufacturing procedures. The QC Inspector performs detailed audits on complex products and components, ensuring all facets of the production process meet stringent company standards. Responsibilities include packaging line inspections, sampling and testing raw materials and incoming components, and evaluating analytical data to approve or reject bulk materials. The position requires vigilance in monitoring critical equipment and instrumentation, with potential involvement in drafting procedures and troubleshooting testing methods such as assays. This role supports quality assurance by reducing rework and production recalls, ultimately contributing to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The QC Inspector will work independently with minimal supervision and apply critical thinking and discretion in resolving inspection-related issues.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5+ years production or related work experience
  • Vocational or technical training
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings and specs
  • Ability to check for workmanship, dimensional specs, tolerance and overall function of the product
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment to resolve problems that may occur in the process or final inspection operation
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs

Job Duties

  • Perform detailed product inspection and/or audits on more complex products
  • May make process recommendations and suggest improvements in inspection procedures
  • Under little or no supervision, performs product inspection and/or audits of quality control programs
  • Perform packaging line and manufacturing inspections, and sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials
  • Ensure in-process and finished products meet company standards
  • May apply approval or rejection labels to bulk raw materials once analytical data is evaluated
  • May assess draft and final label copy, utilizing knowledge of labeling regulations
  • Minimize down time by reducing production rework and recalls
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
