QA/QC Specialist - Heavy Civil

This opportunity is for the position of Quality Engineer/Specialist within the Central division, focused on supporting heavy civil infrastructure construction projects around the United States. These projects encompass a variety of scopes including earthwork, grading, site balancing, utilities, drainage systems, underground trenching, stormwater systems, paving, and concrete work related to roads, bridges, airports, transit systems, power, and water projects. The role is full-time and offers a competitive base salary ranging from $77,000 to $90,000 per year, dependent on experience, education, skill set, and location. Initially, the incumbent will be based at a project site in Big Bend National Forest, approximately four hours from El Paso, Texas, for 18 months, with potential to support future projects across multiple states including Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Kiewit supports mobility and provides per diem and relocation assistance when required.

The Quality Engineer/Specialist will play a critical role in providing quality oversight for construction teams to ensure projects meet rigorous quality requirements, specifications, and client expectations. Responsibilities include performing testing, inspections, and offering guidance and training on quality control activities. This role is integral in mitigating project risks through proactive quality management. The successful candidate will report to a site Quality Manager and be involved in projects ranging from six months to multiple years in duration.
