The Field/Laboratory Technician role at Knight Pi\u00e9sold is an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in construction quality assurance and quality control (CQA/CQ), focusing on earthworks testing and geosynthetics installation. This position requires hands-on involvement in both field and laboratory settings to ensure quality standards are met throughout project implementations. Working in this role, you will be engaged in critical field CQA/CQ observations, geotechnical laboratory tests, and concrete testing, among other vital tasks. The position also involves close interaction with clients, contractors, engineers, and team members to maintain high standards of quality and safety on construction sites.

In this role, the technician will perform soil and aggregate sampling and processing, grain size and Atterberg Limits tests, specific gravity tests, compaction tests (Proctors), hydrometer analysis, and hydraulic conductivity assessments. Moreover, overseeing and training the CQA/CQ and laboratory teams forms an essential part of your responsibilities, ensuring that operations align with the project's technical specifications and safety regulations. The technician will also manage scheduling and coordination of CQA/CQ activities, issue surveillance and non-conformity reports, and ensure compliance through detailed inspections.

The work environment for this role combines fieldwork with laboratory analysis and requires adherence to strict safety standards, including those set by MSHA and OSHA. Exposure to varying ambient conditions is expected, and appropriate training such as MSHA New Miner or annual refresher courses will be provided. Compensation for this hourly position varies depending on experience and is subject to overtime as allowed by law. The work hours may fluctuate weekly based on project availability.
