As a subsidiary of the publicly traded EMCOR Group, Inc., Baker Electric brings decades of comprehensive experience in the electrical contracting industry. The company specializes in commercial, industrial, and residential electrical work, providing high-quality services such as voice/data cabling, traffic signalization, and underground installations. Known for its dedication to excellence, Baker Electric continues to grow by investing in talented individuals who contribute meaningfully to the company's success. With a strong emphasis on teamwork, employee development, and customer satisfaction, Baker Electric fosters an inclusive and unified workforce focused on delivering superior service.
The QAQC Administrator and Scheduler position at Baker Electric is a pivotal role located in Des Moines, IA, reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations. This full-time, non-exempt role is instrumental in supporting project management activities by maintaining accurate project schedules and ensuring quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes are meticulously followed. Working closely with project managers, field teams, and subcontractors, the QAQC Administrator and Scheduler plays a vital part in tracking project progress, managing QA/QC documentation, and compliance verification. The role demands a candidate who is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking while meeting tight deadlines independently.
Successful candidates will be proficient in project management software such as Oracle Primavera P6 and possess intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Office applications, notably Outlook and Excel. Experience with Bluebeam software and familiarity with ERP systems or other construction/financial software packages are preferred but not mandatory. The position requires excellent communication skills, integrity, and professionalism, along with the ability to build strong working relationships across all organizational levels.
Baker Electric acknowledges the physical demands typical of the role, which includes frequent sitting, walking, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. The work environment combines office-based tasks with field visits, exposing employees to varying weather conditions. As part of the EMCOR Group, Baker Electric offers a competitive salary package paired with comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision options, 401k, and paid time off. The company prides itself on its commitment to equal opportunity employment, fostering a diverse and supportive workplace where veterans and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates seeking a challenging and rewarding position within a respected electrical services company that values employee contribution and growth. The role not only requires technical competencies but also emphasizes qualities such as commitment to quality, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration across teams. Baker Electric’s employees are united by a shared vision of excellence and customer satisfaction, supported by leadership that values transparency, honesty, and continuous improvement.
