The Quality Assurance Manager position at Rich's manufacturing facility in Missouri City, TX, plays a crucial role in maintaining the high standards the company is known for. This full-time managerial role is responsible for overseeing all plant units concerning product quality and safety. The manager ensures that all products meet customer requirements as well as strict company quality and reliability standards. This involves managing staff responsible for microbiological testing and quality control, maintaining weight and defect control programs, and developing both short- and mid-term business plans aligned with the broader objectives of the division and corporation.
The role requires a dynamic leader who can mentor, motivate, and develop the plant's associates, ensuring they understand their roles in achieving quality goals. The Quality Assurance Manager will also collaborate with vendors, customers, and company representatives to resolve quality-related issues, manage product hold policies, and participate in quality audits and strategic planning activities. This position demands a strong understanding of food safety regulations including FDA guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, and allergen control, as well as demonstrated expertise in statistical process control and quality assurance techniques. Additionally, the role involves ensuring compliance with GMP and safety standards, addressing deficiencies through sanitation and safety inspections, and keeping abreast of the latest manufacturing technologies and quality control practices. The position reports directly to plant leadership and may serve on the plant’s Steering Team, playing an integral part in driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, food science, engineering or a related field
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in food-processing or related manufacturing
- Proven knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP, HACCP and food allergen control
- Strong background in statistical process control and quality assurance practices
- Ability to analyze and resolve manufacturing and quality issues
- Proficiency in Excel or equivalent spreadsheet tools
- Excellent leadership, coaching and communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude for equipment handling
- Willingness to work onsite at Missouri City, TX facility
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor of arts or science degree in business, supply chain operations, food science, engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in food-processing, pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing environments with computerized manufacturing equipment
- Demonstrated knowledge of statistical process control, quality assurance techniques, and quality management principles
- Working knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, food allergens, and pest control
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software
- Ability to analyze and resolve production and quality-related problems
- Strong mechanical and spatial aptitude, including equipment disassembly and reassembly capabilities
- Capability to formulate and understand complex mathematical and statistical equations
- Demonstrated ability in coaching, training, and scheduling work for associates
Job Duties
- Manage and direct staff responsible for microbiological testing and quality control of plant products
- Oversee maintenance of weight and defect control programs per plant and company standards
- Develop, implement and communicate short- and mid-term business plans aligning with corporate objectives
- Mentor and motivate associates, providing training and development
- Communicate performance standards and manage performance recognition and counseling
- Resolve hotline complaints and maintain records
- Conduct quality audits and participate in plant management meetings to discuss improvements
