Job Description

Greystar is a globally recognized and fully integrated real estate platform specializing in property management, investment management, development, and construction services focused on institutional-quality rental housing. Headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, Greystar operates in over 265 markets worldwide, managing and operating a vast portfolio exceeding $300 billion in real estate assets. With offices strategically placed throughout North America, Europe, South America, and the Asia-Pacific region, the company stands as the largest operator of apartments in the United States, managing over one million units and beds globally.

Founded in 1993 by Bob Faith, Greystar has developed a reputation for delivering world-class service in the rental residential real estate business. The company's comprehensive expertise across multiple facets of real estate enables it to provide high-quality management and development services, contributing significantly to the rental housing industry's growth and innovation. Greystar's global presence and commitment to excellence allow it to maintain nearly $79 billion in assets under management, including $35 billion in development assets and over $36.5 billion in regulatory assets.

This position is designed for individuals who possess technical expertise and a strong mechanical aptitude, with a focus on maintaining the physical integrity and functionality of the buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas under Greystar's portfolio. The Maintenance Technician role requires hands-on work to ensure properties meet and exceed the company’s standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety, and operational efficiency. The hourly pay range for this role is competitive, between $32.00 and $34.00 per hour, reflecting the skill and dedication required.

Key responsibilities include completing service requests and preventive maintenance assignments by diagnosing the source of defects or issues and performing the necessary repairs in line with established safety standards and company policies. Additionally, the role involves preparing vacant apartments for new residents by undertaking thorough inspections, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring all maintenance tasks are completed to high standards before move-in. Maintenance Technicians are also responsible for managing inventory, tracking materials and supplies used, and reporting reordering needs to supervisors for seamless property operations.

This position involves a combination of indoor and outdoor duties, requiring the ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, bending, and crawling within confined spaces. A flexible schedule is necessary, as incumbents must be available for on-call shifts during evenings, weekends, and holidays. Travel may occasionally be required to support other properties or attend training events.

Greystar not only offers a competitive salary but also provides a robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Employees benefit from generous paid time off, including vacation, personal, and sick days, as well as paid holidays. Opportunities for onsite housing discounts, sabbaticals, 401(k) plans with company matching, paid parental leave, fertility benefit reimbursements, employee assistance programs, and other valuable perks further enhance the overall compensation package. Greystar is committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring equal employment opportunities for all qualified applicants.
