We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking Housekeeping and Laundry team member to join our overnight shift at The Westin Pittsburgh. This full-time, non-management position offers an hourly wage of $17.18 and plays a crucial role in maintaining the pristine condition of the hotel’s public and employee areas. The primary duties involve cleaning showers, restrooms, public and employee glass surfaces, floor surfaces using designated chemicals and equipment, dusting designated surfaces, emptying trash containers and ashtrays properly, inspecting furniture for damage, cleaning and maintaining lighting, and placing caution signs to protect guests and staff. Additionally, this role requires responding promptly to guest and departmental requests, identifying and reporting maintenance or safety concerns, and collaborating with other departments for immediate necessary repairs.

The position demands a strong commitment to safety protocols and company policies. Employees must maintain professional appearance standards, protect company property and confidential information, and work respectfully and supportively with colleagues to meet team and quality assurance goals. Physical requirements include moving, lifting, and handling objects up to 55 pounds or more with assistance, navigating narrow, confined, or slippery spaces, standing or walking for prolonged periods, and completing other reasonable tasks as assigned.   • Push and pull maintenance carts loaded with equipment on uneven surfaces
  • Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for prolonged periods during work shifts
  • Perform other reasonable work tasks as assigned by supervisors

Job Duties

  • Clean showers and public and employee restrooms
  • Clean glass surfaces in public and employee areas
  • Clean floor surfaces in public and employee spaces using chemicals, supplies, and designated equipment
  • Dust surfaces in assigned areas
  • Empty trash containers, ashtrays, and ash urns in public areas into appropriate containers
  • Inspect furniture for damage such as breaks, tears, and stains and report damages
  • Clean and maintain lighting fixtures
  • Place caution signs to reduce traffic when necessary
  • Contact other departments directly for urgent repairs
  • Respond promptly to guest and departmental requests
  • Identify and report preventive maintenance or safety issues in public or guest room areas
