Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in hotel or related field preferred
  • Previous housekeeping experience highly preferred
  • Ability to work flexible and long hours sometimes
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and stand during entire shift
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to listen, understand and clarify concerns of employees and guests
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Attend all required hotel meetings and trainings
  • Maintain regular attendance as required by scheduling
  • Maintain proper appearance, grooming, and wear proper uniform and PPE
  • Comply with hotel standards and regulations
  • Identify and assist in solving problems
  • Ability to understand and apply complex information
  • Ability to cross-train in other hotel areas
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Show initiative by anticipating guest or operational needs
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred
  • Previous housekeeping experience highly preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and guests
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Attend all required hotel meetings and trainings
  • Maintain personal appearance and grooming standards including wearing proper uniform and PPE
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations
  • Demonstrate problem-solving and initiative
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Ability to cross-train in other hotel-related areas

Job Duties

  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and employees
  • Use proper two-way radio etiquette in employee communication
  • Practice safe work habits to ensure safety of guests, employees and self
  • Handle items for 'Lost and Found' according to hotel standards
  • Submit keys and assignment sheets to Housekeeping Office at shift end
  • Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager
  • Be familiar with correct guestroom cleaning procedures to assist if needed
  • Deliver clean linen to assigned sections if necessary
  • Pick up Room Attendant's dirty linen or trash as needed
  • Collect and dispose of trash from service landings according to hotel procedures
  • Vacuum guest corridors
  • Keep hallways, public areas and closets neat and organized
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in public restrooms
  • Follow schedule for project cleaning of public areas
  • Maintain stairwells to hotel standards
  • Keep ash urns clean and filled with sand
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
