Job Description
This opportunity is with a leading hospitality company that places a high value on delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining sustainability and cleanliness standards. Operating within the hospitality industry, this company emphasizes a culture where 'People Are Our Capability', 'Hearts That Serve', 'Only Excellence', 'Stay Nimble', and 'Own It' are more than just words—they are guiding principles that foster a rewarding work environment and career growth.
As part of this establishment, the role focuses specifically on maintaining the cleanliness and order of all public areas throughout the property. This entry-level position plays a vital part in the overall guest experience by ensuring that all spaces guests access are immaculate and welcoming. The work environment is dynamic and requires attention to detail, safe work practices, and a commitment to sustainability through participation in the company’s EarthView program.
The hourly compensation for this role ranges from $16.94 to $17.94, reflecting a fair wage for the essential services provided. The position offers a clear and rewarding growth path starting from this role, advancing to Room Inspector, then Housekeeping Supervisor, and ultimately Executive Housekeeper. This career progression highlights the company’s investment in employee development and opportunity to grow within the organization.
The responsibilities associated with this role include cleaning all surfaces, such as hard surfaces, textile areas, and restrooms located in public spaces, as well as responding efficiently to guest room requests. Absence of fingerprints and smudges on internal windows and doorways is a must, alongside maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all furniture and hard surfaces in public areas. Floors must be kept free of debris, carpet spots attended to promptly, and elevator surfaces must be spotless and debris-free.
Furthermore, this role involves emptying all waste receptacles in public areas, cleaning employee break rooms and restrooms, and handling cleaning chemicals responsibly with knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Following procedures to protect against blood borne pathogens ensures safety for both guests and staff. As part of the EarthView program, the employee will practice sustainability guidelines to reduce environmental impact.
A safety-first approach is requisite in this position, which means always practicing safe work habits, wearing protective safety equipment, and adhering strictly to MSDS and OSHA standards. Flexibility in performing other duties as requested by management is part of the role, fostering cross-functional teamwork and supporting overall hotel operations.
This position requires physical stamina including standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. The work schedule may vary and include holidays and weekends, demonstrating the hospitality industry's need for adaptability and commitment to guest satisfaction throughout the year.
Education requirements for this role include a high school diploma or equivalent, and while prior related experience is preferred, it is not mandatory, making this an excellent opportunity for those seeking entry into hospitality and housekeeping careers.
Overall, this role is ideal for individuals who value a clean, safe, and sustainable environment and who wish to start or continue their journey in hospitality with a company that offers structured growth and fosters an inclusive and supportive culture. It is a hands-on position central to delivering the excellence the company promises its guests daily.
