The role of the Public Area Attendant at Heritage Hotels & Resorts is a vital position that significantly influences guests' first and lasting impressions. This role involves ensuring that all public spaces are impeccably clean, safe, and visually appealing at all times. Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager and Supervisor, the Public Area Attendant maintains daily communication with leadership to manage job assignments and timelines effectively. The position requires a positive and professional demeanor, both in interactions with team members and guests.

Public Area Attendants are responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and supplying all public-facing areas, including dusting, polishing, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and maintaining ceiling vents. They are tasked with inspecting and restocking all public and employee restrooms regularly throughout their shifts and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of corridors, office spaces, and common areas. This role also entails conducting routine inspections, performing maintenance tasks, managing housekeeping supplies, and keeping equipment and carts orderly. Additionally, Public Area Attendants handle deep cleaning projects and special assignments as required, responding promptly to guest requests and resolving concerns professionally.

  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend for extended periods and lift up to 30+ pounds

Job Duties

  • Work under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager and Housekeeping Supervisor
  • Communicate daily with leadership regarding job assignments and required timeframes
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with team members and guests
  • Clean and supply all designated public interfacing areas including sterilizing, polishing, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and cleaning ceiling vents
  • Inspect, clean and restock all public restrooms including poolside facilities frequently throughout each shift
  • Inspect, clean and restock employee restrooms a minimum of two times daily
  • Remove trash and vacuum carpets in internal office spaces
  • Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
  • Maintain corridors and public spaces in a clean, neat and clutter free condition
  • Identify and report any loss or damage of linen, furniture, fixtures or equipment
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of all chemicals used and their proper application
  • Stock and maintain housekeeping supply rooms
  • Maintain a neat and organized appearance of work carts and cleaning equipment
  • Carry out deep cleaning tasks and special projects as assigned
  • Resolve guest concerns and respond to requests in a professional and timely manner
  • Follow all company safety, sanitation and health regulations at all times
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and professional appearance in compliance with uniform and grooming standards
  • Protect company assets and maintain confidentiality of proprietary, client and guest information
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
