Job Description
The Junto is a modern-day embodiment of the spirit and vision of Benjamin Franklin and his famous club of the same name. Just as Franklin's "club for mutual improvement" united diverse individuals to engage in meaningful conversations about contemporary ideas and issues, The Junto seeks to foster a similar environment today. Nestled in the vibrant city of Columbus, The Junto is not just a hotel but a dynamic community hub. It provides a welcoming space where visitors, locals, entrepreneurs, and artists can gather to share ideas, collaborate, and inspire one another. With a strong focus on public gathering spaces, The Junto aims to become both a destination and a landmark in the area, contributing to the cultural and economic vitality of Columbus and enhancing its future potential.
The Public Area Attendant role at The Junto is a vital part of this vision, centered around maintaining the inviting and well-kept appearance of all public spaces within the property. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to treating every guest area with the care one would give their own home. The attendant plays a key role in promoting a positive image of the property, ensuring that guests enjoy a pristine and welcoming environment. Beyond cleaning duties, this role involves providing excellent customer service, addressing guest requests, and resolving any issues in a friendly and efficient manner. The areas under their care include lobbies, lobby restrooms, front desk areas, and offices, all of which must be kept neat, tidy, and comfortable.
Successful candidates for the Public Area Attendant position will possess a friendly and guest-first attitude, bringing warmth and professionalism to every interaction. Independence and reliability are essential, as this is a role that requires managing tasks effectively with minimal supervision. Responsibilities range from routine cleaning such as mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash disposal to replenishing supplies and assisting guests with directions or recommendations. The Junto is part of the Makeready collection, which means this role comes with access to a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive work culture prioritizing health, happiness, and well-being. Employees enjoy accommodating paid time off (PTO) programs, medical, dental, and vision benefits, maternity and paternity leave, pet insurance, company-matched dependent care and 401k plans, a student loan repayment program, and numerous other perks.
The Junto embraces diversity and inclusion, operating as an equal opportunity employer committed to building a workplace where success is determined by qualifications, experience, and performance. Working here means being part of a team that values collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement, living out guiding principles that foster a positive and empowering environment. If you are detail-oriented, enjoy working independently, and thrive in a guest-focused role, joining The Junto as a Public Area Attendant offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute meaningfully to an innovative and community-driven hospitality experience.
