With over 1000 properties spread across eight countries, Sonesta International Hotels is a global leader dedicated to quality, value, and exceptional guest experiences.

We believe in the power of teamwork and thrive by working together to bring unparalleled hospitality to every guest and every stay. Our mission is to ensure that every moment our guests spend with us is memorable and impactful, blending the human side of hospitality with excellent service standards.

The role of Public Area Attendant is a vital part of our housekeeping and guest services team. This position ensures cleanliness and upkeep of all public spaces within the hotel according to established quality standards. The main responsibility involves routine cleaning of areas such as public restrooms, lobby spaces, public phone zones, vending areas, and sometimes employee break areas and restrooms. The Public Area Attendant will also perform more detailed tasks such as stripping and waxing floors, polishing furniture and fixtures, and reporting maintenance or safety issues to supervisors. Guest satisfaction is paramount, and this role actively contributes by addressing guest complaints, fulfilling special requests, and supporting a welcoming environment.

Beyond cleaning duties, the attendant will monitor supply levels and minimize waste efficiently. They will also manage lost and found protocols and contribute to teamwork efforts by coordinating with other departments daily. The role may require participation in deep cleaning projects as needed and flexibility to assist in other areas of the hotel to support operational needs.

Our Public Area Attendants bring passion and engagement to their work, always anticipating guest needs and going above and beyond to exceed expectations. The work environment demands frequent standing, walking, bending, and handling of cleaning tools and equipment, and the ability to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds, pushing or pulling up to 200 pounds. Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting effectively with guests and colleagues. Basic literacy and numeracy are used regularly for logging tasks and managing supplies. Attendants may be scheduled to work nights, weekends, and holidays to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness at all times.

Sonesta International Hotels values diversity and is an equal opportunity employer committed to inclusive hiring practices.
