Job Description
Managed by HHM Hotels, a leading hospitality company dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness. HHM Hotels has a strong reputation in the hotel industry for its commitment to quality and sustainability, striving to create environments that are welcoming, clean, and comfortable for all guests. The company values its employees as its greatest asset and emphasizes a culture of excellence, agility, responsibility, and heartfelt service. HHM Hotels is continually growing and seeking motivated individuals who want to build a rewarding career in hospitality.
The Public Area Attendant role at HHM Hotels is a crucial position responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of all public spaces within the hotel. This role supports the overall guest experience by ensuring every area that guests access is spotless, well-organized, and inviting. The position offers a clear growth path starting from Public Area Attendant to Room Inspector, then Housekeeping Supervisor, and eventually to Executive Housekeeper. This career progression allows motivated employees to gain skills and advance within the housekeeping department.
As a Public Area Attendant, you will be entrusted with cleaning all hard and textile surfaces and restrooms within the public areas. You will respond to guest room requests promptly while adhering to guest service and sustainability standards set by HHM Hotels’ EarthView program. Your responsibilities also include cleaning internal windows and doorways to eliminate fingerprints and smudges, ensuring furniture and surfaces in public areas are clean and organized, keeping floors free of debris, and addressing any carpet spots. You will be expected to maintain the cleanliness of elevator surfaces, empty waste receptacles regularly, and take care of employee break rooms and restrooms.
Safety and environmental consciousness are key priorities in this role. You will use cleaning chemicals according to directions and become familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Following procedures for protection against bloodborne pathogens and adhering to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards is mandatory. The role requires practicing safe work habits and using protective safety equipment at all times.
This position demands physical stamina and flexibility since the work environment requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting items up to 25 pounds, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. The work schedule may vary and include holidays and weekends to meet operational needs.
HHM Hotels champions a culture that values people and service, emphasizing excellence and nimbleness in daily operations. Working as a Public Area Attendant gives you the opportunity to contribute directly to the guest experience and growth within a supportive and dynamic hospitality company. If you take pride in cleanliness, are attentive to detail, and enjoy working as part of a team, this role can serve as a strong foundation for a thriving career in hotel housekeeping and guest services.
