This offers a unique opportunity to join our team as a Public Area Attendant, a vital role responsible for upholding cleanliness standards in the public spaces of our hotel. This role is essential in creating memorable first impressions and sustaining the high standards our guests expect. The Public Area Attendant will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all hard and textile surfaces, including restrooms, within public spaces. Attention to detail is crucial, as the role also involves ensuring that internal windows, doorways, furniture, floors, carpets, and elevator surfaces are immaculate and free from debris, fingerprints, or smudges.
The position not only focuses on cleanliness but also on guest service, responding promptly to guest requests to enhance their experience. Employees are expected to utilize chemicals responsibly while adhering to Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, following safety protocols including the appropriate use of protective equipment and blood borne pathogen procedures. The role also involves sustainability practices in alignment with the EarthView program, reinforcing our dedication to responsible housekeeping management.
This is a dynamic role requiring physical activity, including standing for extended periods, walking, lifting weights up to 25 pounds, and performing physical tasks like bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Scheduling is flexible and may include weekends and holidays, suiting candidates ready to embrace varying shifts.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Clean all hard and textile surfaces and restrooms within public space
- respond to guest room requests
- ensure internal windows and doorways are free of fingerprints and smudges
- ensure that furniture and hard surfaces of public areas are clean and organized
- ensure floors are free of debris
- clean any carpet spots
- ensure that all surfaces of elevators are clean and free of debris
- empty all waste receptacles in public areas
- clean employee break room and employee restroom
- utilize chemicals according to directions and gain familiarity with all Material Safety Data Sheets
- follow procedures concerning protection against blood borne pathogens
- follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM's EarthView program
- practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards
- perform other duties as requested by management
