Job Description

Highgate Hotels is a leading real estate investment and hospitality management company known for its innovative approach within the hospitality industry. With a significant presence in key U.S. gateway markets such as New York, Boston, Miami, San Francisco, and Honolulu, Highgate has expanded rapidly into Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean. The company manages a portfolio of global properties valued at over 20 billion dollars, generating cumulative revenues exceeding 5 billion dollars. Utilizing expert guidance and proprietary revenue management tools, Highgate thrives in all stages of the hospitality property cycle, including planning, development, recapitalization, and disposition. The company’s executive team is composed of some of the industry’s most experienced hotel management leaders, making Highgate a trusted partner for top ownership groups and major hotel brands. Corporate offices are located in London, New York, Dallas, and Seattle.

This opportunity is based at the Kimpton Palladian Hotel, situated on the vibrant seam of Belltown and the retail core in Seattle. The 97-room hotel offers guests walking distance access to iconic attractions such as Pike Place Market, the waterfront, and a wide range of Seattle’s finest restaurants, live music venues, cafes, and boutiques. The Palladian is a 1910 landmark beautifully reinvented with a masculine-chic style, luxe amenities, and modern furnishings that capture Belltown's hip heritage. The hotel features a celebrated seafood restaurant, Shaker + Spear, an exclusive speakeasy-style social lounge called Pennyroyal, and a memorable lobby area that serves as a dynamic hub for guests and locals. The Palladian attracts a sophisticated clientele, including tech leaders and tastemakers.

The role of Public Area Attendant at Highgate Hotels is hourly paid, with a competitive rate of 19 dollars per hour. This position is essential to maintaining the high standards and impeccable appearance of all assigned public spaces within the hotel. Responsibilities extend across lobby areas, business center, fitness center, restaurants, public restrooms, corridors, meeting rooms, offices, elevators, pool venues, parking garages, driveways, and any other designated public spaces. Flexibility is essential as the role may occasionally require undertaking special cleaning assignments or assisting with Room Attendant and House Attendant duties.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring guest satisfaction by upholding cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout the property. A Public Area Attendant is expected to communicate effectively, demonstrate attention to detail, and maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor with guests, management, and fellow employees. Safety standards must be strictly adhered to, ensuring a secure environment for everyone at the hotel. Inviting service and proactive problem-solving are key attributes Highgate seeks in this role. The job also involves physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and standing for prolonged periods.

Highgate Hotels supports its employees with comprehensive benefits. Eligible full-time associates enjoy three tiers of medical coverage as well as dental and vision benefits. All associates accrue paid sick leave under the Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act, with paid time off plans available for qualifying employees. Both full-time and part-time associates who meet eligibility requirements can participate in the Retirement 401(k) Program. Highgate offers a supportive, welcoming workplace culture that values productivity, team collaboration, and continuous learning through regular training and development opportunities.
