The Public Area Attendant role at Highgate Hotels is critical in upholding the company’s renowned standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction. This hourly position plays an essential part in maintaining all assigned public spaces within Highgate properties, including lobby areas, business centers, fitness centers, restaurants, public restrooms, corridors, meeting rooms, offices, elevators, pool areas, parking garages, driveways, and other public spaces. The Public Area Attendant ensures these areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and organization, providing an inviting environment that enhances the overall guest experience. This role requires a dedicated individual who can perform a variety of cleaning duties including vacuuming guest corridors, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in restrooms, and ensuring stairwells and ash urns meet hotel standards. The attendant also supports other housekeeping functions by delivering clean linens, picking up dirty linens or trash, and assisting with room attendant duties as needed. Communication skills and courteous interactions with guests, managers, and fellow employees are key components of the role, requiring the use of proper two-way radio etiquette and a service-oriented approach. Safety is a top priority for Highgate, and the Public Area Attendant must comply with all hotel safety guidelines to protect guests, coworkers, and themselves. Attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively are essential qualities for success in this position. Additional responsibilities include reporting maintenance issues, turning in keys and assignment sheets at the end of shifts, and participating in special cleaning projects scheduled for public areas. The hourly pay rate for the Public Area Attendant position is $19.00 per hour.
