Job Description

The Portland Public House of Deschutes Brewery is currently seeking a full-time Pub Manager to join their restaurant leadership team. This salaried position is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing the operations of the dining room and bar, focusing primarily on front-of-house (FOH) leadership while fostering efficient communication and collaboration with the back-of-house (BOH) team. The Pub Manager will be responsible for overseeing the overall guest experience, ensuring quality service, managing administrative duties, and maintaining a profitable operation. This role requires a hands-on approach to floor management, including active participation during shifts, training and coaching staff, and upholding the company’s standards and values. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, with the requirement to work nights and weekends. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial management, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for creating extraordinary experiences for their customers. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of progressive leadership experience working in a high-volume restaurant environment
  • Microsoft Office or similar experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience with financial management preferred
  • Experience planning and executing private events preferred

Job Duties

  • Hands-on floor management - actively participates in floor operations
  • Ensuring quality product and service - helps to establish expectations for FOH co-owners to make service a priority to create raving fans for life
  • Financial accountability - understanding of financial statements, inventory and month end
  • Communication - actively interacts and promotes communication with co-owners across the company
  • Leadership, mentoring and training - responsible for training and development program adherence for specified FOH department
  • Maintains an open-door policy with all co-owners - is approachable to co-owners on and off the floor
  • Ability to make effective decisions under pressure and prioritize
  • Comply with Deschutes Brewery safety practices, policies and procedures and actively promote safe work practices
