The role of Night Auditor is pivotal within SHG’s operations. The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the crucial end-of-day accounting functions that ensure operational accuracy and financial integrity. This includes auditing the daily guest ledger, posting daily room rates and room taxes, and verifying guest folio charges. This position not only fulfills accounting duties but also provides essential front desk services during night shifts, checking guests in and out, booking reservations, and resolving guest concerns effectively. The Night Auditor’s responsibilities extend to security monitoring, such as overseeing the hotel’s camera system to maintain guest and staff safety, and ensuring the lobby environment remains inviting and well-maintained throughout the night.
A successful Night Auditor with SHG must demonstrate strong multitasking skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a customer-focused mindset. Basic accounting and math skills are essential, as is familiarity with Property Management Systems (PMS). - Minimum of 1 year in accounting or night auditor role
- knowledge of PMS

Job Duties
- Audits the daily guest ledger
- handles all end-of-day accounting functions including posting daily room rates and room tax
- ensures accuracy of all charges to guest folios
- averages sum of revenues of all accounts receivable from food, room and other departments
- acts as front desk clerk, checking guests in and out, booking reservations and resolving guest issues
- make cash drops in accordance with proper cash handling procedures
- organize the front desk area so that the A.M. front desk staff can properly prepare for their shift
- monitors hotel security camera system
- ensures that lobby is well-maintained, properly lit and with music at proper volume
- work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- any other duties as assigned
