Key responsibilities of the Kitchen Steward include machine or hand washing of dishes and utensils, emptying and sanitizing garbage cans, maintaining kitchen work areas and equipment in safe and orderly conditions, sorting and disposing of waste and compost correctly, cleaning floors and food preparation areas, organizing and labeling refrigerator and bulk storage items according to FIFO (First In, First Out) protocols, loading and unloading food supplies, stocking utensils and paper goods, cleaning kitchen hoods and vents, and assisting with food cleaning and preparation as needed.

Job Requirements
- Ability to follow both written and oral direction
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with co-workers and managers
- Ability to safely lift and move 50 lbs repeatedly and consistently
- Must be able to stand for 100% of the time
- Must be able to work safely and cooperatively in a crowded environment
- Must wear clean non-slip shoes, apron or jacket, hairnet or hat as per dress code

Job Duties
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans, with machine or by hand
- Empty and clean all garbage cans with hot water, allow to air dry, place liner bag in can
- Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in safe, clean and orderly condition
- Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in appropriate storage areas
- Sort and remove trash, compost and cardboard by placing it in designated pickup areas
- Clean floors, counter tops, walk in, freezer and food prep areas
- Organize and label walk in refrigerator items for FIFO (First In, First Out) use
