The part-time Server role at MBK Senior Living offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of residents by providing exceptional dining experiences that cater to individual preferences and dietary needs. Scheduled for evenings on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, totaling 20 hours per week, this position pays between $17.00 and $18.00 per hour. As a Server, you will play a critical role in creating a warm, welcoming dining atmosphere for residents, family members, and guests by delivering attentive and courteous service. Your responsibilities will include taking and serving accurate food orders, ensuring the presentation and quality of meals meet the company’s standards, and assisting residents with meal selections while respecting their dietary restrictions and preferences.

Additionally, you will be entrusted with maintaining sanitary dining areas, tracking resident meal attendance for safety purposes, and supporting room service operations when needed. The role also involves helping with stock management, assisting in kitchen tasks as required, and contributing positively to the community’s marketing efforts through professional appearance and behavior. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Exposure to restaurant operations or ability to learn
  • Must be 18 years or older or have proper work permit and authorization documentation
  • Must complete required background clearances, health screening, and provide negative TB test results within 7 days of employment
  • Basic counting skills for tracking meals and residents
  • Excellent communication skills including speaking, writing, understanding, and reading English
  • Ability to operate standard serving equipment such as salad bar, heating cart, trays
  • Ability to deal tactfully and professionally with various stakeholders
  • Must meet and maintain all state-specific regulatory requirements including Food Handler Certification
  • Must be physically able to perform job duties including standing for prolonged periods, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, pulling, reaching overhead, repetitive motions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 250 pounds
  • Must comply with federal, state, and local laws and company policies

  • Must be 18 years or older or have a proper work permit and authorization documentation

Job Duties

  • Deliver exceptional dining service by taking accurate food orders and serving appetizing and visually appealing meals to residents, family members, and guests in a professional, efficient, and courteous manner
  • Uphold a high standard of table etiquette by serving from the left, clearing dishes between courses, and resetting tables for subsequent service to ensure complete customer satisfaction
  • Engage with residents in a friendly and courteous manner, assisting with their meal and menu selections, and attending to their dining needs, as necessary or requested
  • Review and adhere to residents' dietary needs, restrictions, and preferences as outlined by the Supervisor and in their care plan
  • Track resident meal attendance and communicate with the designated team members in a timely manner for a safety check on absent residents
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere by ensuring all residents are properly and promptly greeted and seated, with special attention given to integrating new residents
  • Deliver meals to and retrieve trays from residents' rooms after meal service, as required, for those who opt for room service
