Job Requirements

  • Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license, automobile insurance and safe driving record
  • commitment to the Girl Scout mission and team
  • willingness to lead group events and engage potential members
  • knowledge of or ability to learn about the Girl Scout organization and issues affecting girls and young women
  • ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • willingness and ability to travel within council jurisdiction
  • ability to work evenings and weekends
  • registered member of GSUSA
  • successful background investigation
  • represent GSOFCT in professional attire
  • regional travel from service center to program sites
  • physical ability to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects up to 25 lbs
  • able to sit or stand for long periods
  • ability to maneuver event settings including setup and cleanup
  • valid Connecticut driver’s license
  • proof of liability insurance for personal vehicle

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred or equivalent experience
  • bachelor’s degree in human services, education, hospitality or related field preferred
  • experience with proven recruitment and sales results preferred
  • experience working with youth
  • experience with Girl Scouts preferred
  • bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
  • strong attention to detail
  • excellent customer service skills
  • effective team player
  • strong oral and written communication skills
  • computer literacy including Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Word and Excel

Job Duties

  • Complete GSOFCT Staff Training modules and understand the Girl Scout Leadership Experience
  • promote Girl Scouting and increase local awareness through recruitment sessions
  • deliver engaging hands-on activities for girls and caregivers at events
  • recruit youth members through on-site registration and lead generation
  • recruit adult volunteers for community and troop leadership roles
  • assist with online registration and troubleshoot issues
  • perform administrative tasks related to recruitment events and follow-up
  • collaborate with staff, volunteers, and team members to meet event goals
  • communicate the Girl Scout mission and benefits
  • represent the Girl Scout brand professionally
  • promote diversity, equity, inclusion and access
  • ensure compliance with council policies and guidelines
  • adapt to changing assignments and schedules
  • perform additional duties to support council goals
