The role of a Receptionist at Porters Neck Village centers on delivering exceptional hospitality through frontline engagement. The Receptionist serves as the first welcoming face for residents, guests, prospective employees, suppliers, vendors, and outside service providers, embodying the community’s values of respect, warmth, and professionalism on a daily basis. This position is primarily scheduled for Fridays from 8 am to 8 pm, with flexibility to cover additional shifts or provide reception support as needed. The Receptionist is key in maintaining smooth communication and handling diverse interactions with courtesy and efficiency.

Daily responsibilities include greeting and assisting visitors with a warm and professional demeanor, managing telephone coverage to ensure consistent communication, and resolving issues presented by residents and other stakeholders in a manner that respects organizational objectives and individual satisfaction. The role also involves logistical duties such as accepting and documenting package deliveries, preparing maintenance work orders, and supporting leadership with various projects and assignments. The Receptionist must be adept at managing potentially difficult situations calmly to prevent escalation and ensure all parties feel valued and heard.

Job Duties

  • Provide ongoing telephone coverage
  • solve issues presented by residents, guests, vendors, and suppliers in a manner that meets organizational objectives and ensures individuals feel appropriately served
  • keep difficult situations from escalating
  • accept delivery packages, document receipt of packages in log book, and notify the resident recipient of delivery
  • prepare maintenance work orders as requested by residents and staff
  • assist the Leadership Team with projects and assignments
