This part-time Event Coordinator role based in West Springfield, MA store is designed to plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of engaging events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes, to deliver an exceptional and stress-free experience for guests of all ages. The position involves fostering a fun and creative atmosphere while delivering excellent customer service that includes assisting guests with shopping, product location, and checkout services. The coordinator will be directly responsible for event execution, including setting up and taking down event materials, interacting with clients to ensure their satisfaction, adapting event details based on feedback, and handling administrative duties such as answering emails and managing event communications.
Besides event-related tasks, the role also entails supporting store operations through activities like unloading deliveries, merchandising, maintaining recovery standards, and delivering compliance with company policies. This includes supporting safety and shrinkage programs, cross-training in custom framing, and participation in omni-channel processes such as Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS). The ideal candidate must have a dynamic personality with exceptional interpersonal skills, the ability to manage stress effectively, and experience working with children and events focused on young participants.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to remain standing for long periods
- Ability to lift, bend, carry, reach, and stretch regularly
- Experience interacting with customers in a retail environment
- Ability to handle job stress effectively
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and early mornings as required
- Must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements for employment
- Physical ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using ladders

Job Duties
- Plan and coordinate multiple events including children's birthday parties and craft classes
- Engage clients by creating a fun and creative environment
- Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft projects and activities
- Facilitate party enhancements such as goody bags and balloons
- Communicate event details with clients and store team members
- Complete administrative tasks including emails, phone calls, and paperwork
- Implement backup plans as needed
- Ensure client satisfaction and uphold cleanliness and safety standards
- Help customers shop and locate products
- Provide fast and friendly checkout service
- Promote and enroll customers in rewards programs and credit cards
- Educate customers on the Voice of Customer survey
- Assist with Buy Online Pickup in Store and Ship From Store processes
- Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes
- Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance
- Support shrink and safety programs
- Adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures
- Project a positive image and act as a role model
- Cross-train in custom framing sales and production
- Participate in daily store cleanliness activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
