As a first-choice college, it emphasizes delivering exceptional educational opportunities that equip students with high-demand skills necessary for both professional and academic advancement. The college fosters an inclusive environment by adhering to its core values of equity, inclusion, and diversity, which are integral to its mission and vision. The School of Business and Applied Arts at Madison College is seeking part-time instructors for the Artisanal Modern Meat Butchery program for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about mentoring and empowering students to succeed in a specialized trade. The role involves teaching courses that focus on artisanal and modern meat butchery techniques, designed to prepare students with practical skills and knowledge needed to excel in the meat industry. As a part-time instructor, the successful candidate will engage a diverse student body using learner-centered instruction, incorporating various teaching modalities such as face-to-face, hybrid, and online delivery.
This role requires not only teaching proficiency but also active participation in curriculum development, student advising, assessment of student learning outcomes, and contributing to departmental and college-wide service activities. Part-time instructors at Madison College operate with the autonomy to create engaging and inclusive learning environments that respond to the current demands of the meat processing industry. The teaching assignments vary in schedule and may include day, evening, and weekend classes, offering flexible work arrangements aligned with semester-based course offerings.
Candidates must possess relevant educational credentials such as an associate's degree or a technical diploma coupled with significant related professional experience in meat butchery or food safety. Certifications like ServSafe Food Manager with a minimum score of 90% and ServSafe Instructor/Proctor certification to teach Principles of Sanitation are essential for delivering quality instruction aligned with industry standards. Madison College places a strong emphasis on continuous professional development and encourages instructors to maintain competencies through established faculty quality assurance systems.
This part-time teaching role is not a full-time or permanent appointment but an excellent opportunity to influence the next generation of meat industry professionals while contributing to the college's mission of educational excellence and workforce development. The salary varies depending on the class load with no guaranteed assignment beyond one semester. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply through the college’s online system by submitting a resume, cover letter, and transcripts. Madison College supports a nondiscriminatory hiring process and strives to create an equitable environment for all employees and students.
