We are currently seeking a Front Desk Agent to join our vibrant team. This role is essential in shaping the first impression for our guests as it involves handling check-ins and check-outs, assisting with reservations, and managing front office operations with precision and care. The Front Desk Agent is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient guest interactions, including managing payments, coordinating room reservations, and addressing any special requests or needs our guests may have. This position requires a professional who is courteous and effective at communication, able to work well under pressure, and who shows a genuine desire to contribute to a positive guest experience.

The successful applicant will be well-versed in hotel rates, discounts, and cancellation policies and possess excellent organizational skills enabling them to take same-day reservations efficiently and respond to guest needs promptly. With this role, you will be pivotal in maintaining our service standards, attending to any special guest requests, and ensuring a seamless operation at the front desk, contributing significantly to the overall guest experience and the smooth functioning of the hotel.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in hotel front desk or customer service preferred
  • Ability to work Friday and Saturday nights
  • Strong work ethic and self-initiative
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to manage cash and handle payments accurately
  • Familiarity with hotel reservation systems
  • Basic math skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in hotel front desk or customer service preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to efficiently manage reservations and handle cash transactions
  • Knowledge of front office computer systems
  • Basic math skills for cash handling
  • Ability to work Friday and Saturday nights
  • Team player with a positive attitude

Job Duties

  • Greet and communicate cordially with guests, promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel
  • Assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary
  • Promptly, accurately and efficiently know how and where to post all charges
  • Have complete working knowledge of Front Office computer or manual system, including all daily transactions and those which are not performed often
  • Accurately manage cash handling, including receiving cash, checks and credit card information from guests for payment of hotel charges and making change correctly
  • Review any reservations with special requests and work to block rooms accordingly
  • Have knowledge of hotel rates, discounts and how to handle each
  • Have working knowledge of reservations and procedures, including how to take same day reservations
  • Should be able to take reservations in approximately 2 minutes
  • Know and follow cancellation procedures and relocation procedures when necessary
