Job Description

Groovin' Gourmets is the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, a Richmond-based hospitality group that proudly serves the greater Richmond and Hampton Roads regions. This dynamic company specializes in delivering fresh, chef-crafted meals accompanied by seamless service tailored for corporate functions, weddings, and social events of varying sizes. As part of a larger hospitality group, Groovin' Gourmets blends culinary excellence with a commitment to outstanding customer experiences, positioning itself as a trusted leader in the catering industry throughout Virginia.

At Groovin' Gourmets, the focus goes beyond just delicious food. The company values its people immensely, understanding that their dedication and passion are foundational to the business' success. Driven by the shared purpose of delivering happiness not only to their customers but also within their community and team, they foster a positive and supportive work environment where every individual's contributions are truly valued. Guided by core values such as having a can-do attitude, doing the right thing, and embracing transparency and honesty, Groovin' Gourmets upholds a culture that emphasizes continuous growth and collective problem-solving, making it an inspiring place to work.

The Catering Event Lead role is perfect for individuals seeking flexible scheduling, ideal for those wanting a second job or occasional shifts. This position involves the seasonal nature of catering, where the number of event shifts may vary depending on the time of year. As a Catering Event Lead, you will be entrusted with transporting food, drinks, and equipment safely to event venues and managing every aspect of event execution from setup to serving meals and beverages, ensuring the smooth take-down post-event. You will lead a team comprising co-captains, servers, and bartenders, maintaining clear communication with event hosts and adapting quickly to different venues and event flow.

This role demands exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple challenges. The ideal candidate finds joy in delivering excellent customer service and naturally builds rapport with guests, making sure every event is seamless and memorable. Your ability to nurture and guide teams while fostering a positive environment will empower the entire staff to succeed. Flexibility is crucial as shifts may include nights and weekends. Physical stamina is also necessary, as the role involves manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing in and out of vehicles.

This position offers competitive pay at $22 per hour plus occasional tips. Employees gain access to a range of benefits including an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), discounts across all Trolley House Hospitality companies, free employee shift meals, and eligibility for 401k matching after the first year for part-time employees who work at least 1,000 hours annually. If you are looking for a rewarding opportunity to join a company that values integrity, growth, and team success, Groovin' Gourmets invites you to apply and be a part of their exciting hospitality journey.
