This particular role is based at a GIANT store located in Whitehall, Pennsylvania, on 2641 Macarthur Road, under the store code GC - Store Mgrs (2600506). This position falls under the Retail Store category with a focus on deli product management and customer service. The primary responsibility is to manage and handle deli products efficiently to maintain the highest quality and safety standards. This includes receiving, processing, preparing, wrapping, slicing, weighing, marking, packaging, and stocking deli items while ensuring neat and attractive shelf arrangements and properly signed displays.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4-hour shifts or more depending on business needs
  • ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • standing 55 percent of the time and walking 45 percent, no sitting
  • ability to work in varying temperature environments including freezer and non-air-conditioned spaces
  • knowledge of safety precautions and proper food safety and sanitation work habits

Job Duties

  • Provide quality customer service
  • receive, process, prepare, wrap, slice, weigh, mark, and package products
  • maintain proper shelf, case, and display conditions including stocking, cleaning, straightening, and rotating products
  • maintain proper cooler conditions such as coding, rotating, organizing cases of product and cleaning
  • maintain proper prep area conditions, including cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, utensils, and equipment
  • adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations applicable to the deli area
  • maintain safe and clean sales floor conditions including sweeping and mopping
  • provide friendly and courteous customer service by answering questions, making recommendations, and promoting products through suggestive selling
  • dress according to company policy and maintain a neat appearance
  • complete required ELM training courses
  • report accidents and file incident reports promptly
  • follow safety procedures including use of PPE, proper lifting, and food safety practices
  • keep floors and work areas clear and clean
  • comply with company policies and procedures
  • complete and follow Lockout/Tagout and Confined Space training
