Job Description

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Knowledge of food handling regulations
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Availability to work every other weekend, Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm
  • Demonstrated alignment with PHS's Christian ministry values
  • Ability to prepare nutritious meals
  • Capacity to maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Knowledge of state and federal food-handling regulations
  • Demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English to communicate with customers
  • Experience in food preparation and cooking preferred
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve attractive, nutritious and palatable meals consistent with regulations and established policies
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal food-handling regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food preparation areas
  • Collaborate with team members to plan menus and procure ingredients
  • Monitor food quality and report any issues related to food safety
  • Assist in inventory management and storage of kitchen supplies
  • Communicate effectively with residents and staff to meet special dietary needs
